Epson R340
The Epson R340 is proof of yet again Epson’s ability to bring it home when it comes to photo printers. Photo printers are a tough niche; it’s like the consumer is never satisfied because they seem to use up all the ink very quickly, yet they do not want to settle for the lower quality of photos that seems to come with those printers that do not seem tobe such ink guzzlers. For whatever reason, photo printers are ink guzzlers, and if you cannot accept that then you should probably start taking your pictures to Walgreens as that is just a fact of life. The Epson R340 is great for printing pictures and documents, or pages off of the internet. It is also supposed to print labels on CDs and DVDs, but this feature seems to malfunction more often than function. This can get rather frustrating if that is the reason why you purchased this particular printer in the first place, so if you find an Epson R340 for sale and you need a printer for disk labeling, leave it where it is, no matter how cheap it is. If you need a high quality photo printer or a great reliable printer for homework and research papers and the like, then the Epson R340 is the perfect printer for your needs. Eventually the kink with the CD drive should fix itself, but who knows how many Epson photo printer models will have to malfunction for that to happen?
The Epson R340 has ports right on the face of the printer that are made for use of the printer without having to use the computer to do so. You can plug your digital camera directly into the printer without ever having to boot up your computer, and the same goes for removable memory cards. This is a great feature for those who have trouble keeping their computer booted on, and hate to wait for it too re-boot as so many of us do, and it helps to save time.
If you need a reliable photo and document pritner and you aren’t worried primarily about CD burning, then you are encouraged to check out the cheap Epson R340 printer and the other printers that are available on Epson Stylus’ line.
