Kodak 8500
The Kodak 8500 is one of Kodak’s more infamous high quality dye sublimation printers on the market today. Many of the dye sublimation printers that professional photographers and digital artists require are outrageously priced, but the Kodak 8500 brings the cost of dye sublimation printers down to a reasonable level, one that regular people can afford without having to take out a mortgage on their home. The Kodak 8500 does have its downfalls, just like any other printer. No manufacturer has ever produced a perfect printer and the Kodak 8500 is no different. As far as one of its downfalls go, the Kodak 8500 printer only has a reservoir that is capable of holding 50 sheets of paper. Kodak 8500 paper comes in packs of 100, split in half to make for two loadings’ worth of paper in each pack.
If you are looking for an extremely small desktop computer you probably will not want to go with any of Kodak’s dye sublimation printers or any dye sublimation printers for that matter. They are rather large and they generate quite a bit of heat, which creates the need for the group of fans sitting around the motor. This is supposed to control the heat, which it does to some extent, but they are more there to keep the motor from getting too warm and blowing out. This just can create too much noise, and if you are easily irritated by printer noise or computer noise, the DS models of the Kodak printers are not the printers for you. They hum and whir even when the printer is not in use and you would have to completely remove it from power to get it to quiet down.
If you want to buy a dye sublimation printer for your small home or office, the Kodak 8500 printer is going to be one of the most effective and efficient options you will have available to you. You can find cheap and discount Kodak 8500 printers for sale on the internet or at your local retailer, although the web probably offers the greatest discounts.
