Kodak ML-500
The Kodak ML-500 is not a cheap printer. It is large, and does all of the heavy duty work that large printers are said to do. It is a commercial or privately used printer that is used for work that needs an unusually higher quality or brighter finish, like lithographs, prints, and proofs. The ML-500 retails for about $1000 brand new, and it is worth every penny for those who need it for business purposes. The cost per page is great for those who use it for business purposes, which makes it very cost effective and in the long run it certainly pays for itself. With printers it is easily said and done that you get what you pay for; if you pay less than $100 for a printer you get less than $100 worth of use in it usually and it doesn’t last long. Cheap printers are made with less expensive parts, which usually means they are of a lower quality so ink is not used as efficiently and paper jams are frequent.
The Kodak ML-500 takes up a lot of desktop room, although it may not exactly look like it does in the photographs on the internet or in the catalog. Most printers that are heavy duty like the Kodak ML-500 printer are fairly large; large printers do a lot, so as long as you have the space the size of the Kodak ML-500 is to your advantage; plus, it is not like you have to move the printer around with you from location to location so the size and weight of it shouldn’t matter much after the first day you get it into your home, office, or studio.
The truth is that if you need high quality prints and you need them in a timely, cost effective manner the Kodak ML-500 printer is a great option. If you cannot afford the brand new full priced models, you should be able to find cheap or discounted ML-500 models of Kodak printers on the web, as well.
